Question?

As some of you might know, I am currently 6 1/2 months along in my pregnancy and will probably not make it to the end of the school year which is when I am scheduled to have alot of ARD's for my students to determine their final placement for the upcoming school year. My question is since I will more than likely be on maturnity leave at this point, how is all the ARD paperwork and IEP's going to get done. I currently teach in a kinder collab with a regular ed teacher but I'm wondering am I still going to be expected to get the packets done before I leave or will someone else take care of the paperwork for me?

  1. Denise,
You will definitely have to get all that in order before you leave. Check with your special education coordinator/director to see what your responsibilities are. Typically, you will be responsible for getting everything in order that is needed for ARDs before you leave.

  2. Hi Denise, yeah I would try to get all the packets in order before you leave. As for placements you can most likely make accurate decisions for your students before you leave. I know that we are not supposed to fill out anything other than demographic info on the ARD packet but get as much as you can done before you leave. Does your diagnostician attend all your ARDS? Maybe she can assist you in all this.
