Hello Mrs Anderson,
I am not sure if I am understanding scoring steps correctly. For example, in Numerical Operations it says if student responds correctly to three consecutive items, we award 1 point for each of the preceding, unadministered items. So does that mean we do not actually continue testing student for that particular sub-test? I tested my daughter all the way through until she missed three consecutive items.... Help Please!!

ok i think i can help you, you begin testing where your daughter falls in the age range, so for instance my son is in 1st grade so i began there. Now for the first three items, if he got them all correct, I went back to the very beginning of the test where you start at the kinder or pre k level and gave him credit for all those previous ones. Does that make sense?
ReplyDeleteNow where i stopped testing him was when he got 7 or 6 (depending on the directions) wrong in a row.
I hope that made sense.
Yes Amy that is correct. Lisa, remember the basal rules? All this is saying is once you begin at your starting point (say 1st grade) and they get 3 consecutive correct at that start point(which is our basal rule on numerical operations) then you would give them credit for all items above that start point. We are assuming that us we had administered those items they would have answered them correctly.
ReplyDeleteSimply, you count all items correct above the basal.
