In the actual story, the year was 1989 that Kristi and Rudy won the pairs gold medal at Nationals.
This was brought to my attention TWICE when I tested my two cousins. Did anyone else come across this?
This blog follows the (sometimes frustrating!)process of learning that students complete in order to become knowledgeable in academic achievement assessments. Post any questions or thoughts you may have regarding administering, scoring, interpreting, and report writing. Feel free to answer questions and add comments to each post.
Amy, I had forgot about that question until you brought it up. Good work paying close attention to the details of the assessments. It is actually not a mistake but it just shows the intricacies of the test and the skills that it measures that we are not even aware of.
ReplyDeleteMost students will pick up on this question and their first response will be Kristi and Rudi won in 1989, butit doesn't say anything about 1990. This should give you an idea of their comprehension during the timed reading of the passage. If they are reviewing the passage as you have asked #106, they may be scouring the passage looking for the specific date 1990 to get quick info. The authors did not list the date, instead, they stated, "She duplicated this accomplishment the following year..." It is sort of a trick to see if the student is TRULY understanding the readings or if they are searching frantically through the passage.
Good observations Amy!
Ahhh, I see so it is not a mistake. I did not catch that second part in the story! Ok great thanks for the info!
