HALLELUJIAH..... I'm mostly done with testing and scoring, and I can enjoy the rest of my spring break!!!! I do have a few questions. I checked through the other blog posts to make sure my questions aren't redundant, so here goes!
1) Do you want us to figure holistic scores?
2) How do I figure composites for PK? My little one only did a few of the tests because of her grade, and I think figuring composites by adding scores will skew her score.
3) Exactly which of the face pages do we need to complete? I know we don't need to do the Ability Achievement Discrepancy Analysis. Do we do everything else??
Thanks for the answers! I hope everyone gets at least a little R @ R and time for some fun during their break!!!

Good for you Cinda. I am going to try the activity you posted. I hope I have fun with it too:)
ReplyDeleteGreat job Cinda. Let me see if I can answer your questions:
ReplyDeleteHolistic scores: I am not sure about the reference to holistic scores. Please provide me with a little more information.
Composite scores: What is the age/grade of your examinee? If she is at least 4:00 then the scores will be fine. Remember we score using age ranges. You can find this on pages 278-279 in the scoring manual. It shouldn't matter about her grade items. Let me know if it is not computing correctly and I'll take a closer look using the examinee's specific info.
Page to complete: On the Response Form, you will need to COMPLETELY fill in every blank on the face sheet. You do not need to worry about the inside WIAT-II Parent Report, since we ARE NOT sharing scores with the parent. It is up to your district as to whether or not they want this completed. Most do not require it. On the inside cover of the last sheet is a worksheet that will help you do the score conversions. This is for your use. Again, once you start using the computer software these won't be necessary. There are VERY FEW districts NOT using scoring software these days. You are correct, you will not need to complete the Ability-Achievement page because we do not have ability information, just achievement, therefore we are not able to make that analysis.
Hope this helps. Please let me know about further questions (and more info regarding the holistic scores)and I'll try to answer them.
Great job!
Cinda,
ReplyDeleteNever mind...I just remembered that there is a Holistic scoring criteria for the Written Expression. Please read throught the manual and be familiar with the concept. No, we will not use the Holistic scoring method in this course.
Great question...made me stop and have think!!
