First test down

On Friday, I finished my testing with that five year old and I must admit it was very tricky. The problem I ran in to was he would say the letter on blurt out the answer before I could even explain to him what to do and how to do it. Is this going to hurt my scoring if he blurts out answers that are wrong and then once I explain to him what to do he says the answer? I figured we were supposed to be going off the first response so this is why I"m asking.

  1. Your scores will be fine. I would include notations in the protocol margins stating that he blurted out answers. This could be helpful in the future (if these assessments were really going to be used!). Remember to make it clear that he needs to wait until you tell him to answer. I would go with the first response but, again, make sure that you let him know that he should slow down and think about his answers before blurting them out.

    Good work Nitra.
