I am your instructor for this course at Sul Ross State University. I was born in Alpine and have two beautiful children (10,6)that I enjoy raising in a safe, small town.
I have worked for several different school districts in Texas. I started my educational career as a special education teacher and a coach. After I had my children, the coaching lifestyle proved to be too demanding. I became the special education coordinator and then I decided to become an Educational Diagnostician. I missed the students and my classroom tremendously but soon I couldn't imagine doing anything other than being a diagnostician.
I returned to school in 2007 to work on my doctorate. I am in the last semester of my course work and will begin my dissertation in the summer. It has been the biggest challenge I have faced yet. I have quite a communte (10 hours each way) and leave every weekend. (Glenna, I'm still coming through Eastland so I can meet any weekend if needed!). Needless to say, I am looking forward to finishing up!
I truly have a passion for special education and proper diagnosis and placement. I am looking forward to meeting everyone and espcially working with you to develop and sharpen your assessment knowledge and skills.
Best of luck!

Good morning--Professor Anderson, I am still teaching in Eastland. I am so sorry that Starbucks closed because I know this is the place you stopped to refuel and help you continue on your long trip. I am sure you are glad that you can see the light at the end of the tunnel. You are almost there.
ReplyDeleteThank you Glenna. You are right, I was very disturbed by the Starbucks closure. I had to find another place to get out and stretch my legs! Last long semester and I will be done!
ReplyDeleteHi, Ms. Anderson, thank you for fixing my funky font. It seems that I can mess up the most simple directions. I hope this isn't a prediction of my course work this semester. I am looking forward to this semester and learning about achievement testing. See you soon.
