Hello

Hello,

My name is Lisa Camacho. I have been in education for about 14 years. Currently, I am an In-home/Parent training for SISD. I hope to complete my certification program for Diagnostician by May. My goal is to become a Diagnostician and work for Child Find. My experience in testing has been as a classroom teacher, I tested my students with Brigance, Pep-R and CLASS. I also practiced testing during my achievement course last spring. I am really looking forward to learning lots more in this course.

Ms. Anderson, I will ask if I can borrow testing materials from my department.

Thanks,
Lisa Camacho

Hello All!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Everyone,

I am so looking forward to this class as it is my last. Woohoo!!!! I live in El Paso, TX. I am an 8th and 9th grade special ed teacher. I teach ASC, resource, and inclusion math for 8th grade and algebra 1, and I teach content mastery and ASC biology. I have a pretty busy schedule. I have been teaching for 5 years now, this is my 6th all at the secondary level. This is my last class and then I will be taking my certification exams in the spring. If all goes well I will be ready to start applying for a diag position this summer. I have some experience testing, I took the course on achievement testing last Spring, and I administer the assessments on my students for the annuals.

I look forward to a great semester and to working with you all.

Hello Everyone, my name is Amy and I am a PPCD teacher at an Elementary school here in El Paso. I have been in the Diagnostician program since June 2009, and I hope to become an educational diagnostician when I graduate. This is one of the two classes I have left to complete before I graduate. I am very excited to be in this class. Professor Anderson, I will be needing to use Sul Ross materials for testing.

Introduction

Hello everyone,

I am Shari Butler, a wife to a very patient and supportive man and mother of the most amazing 1 1/2 year-old boy. I have never participated in a blog before so I hope I am doing this correctly. I currently direct RMC Research Corporation's Austin office. We do research and development in education. More specifically, I work with state leaders to assist in implementing NCLB and IDEA. I also do quite a bit of professional development across the country for teachers in the areas of RtI and various topics in reading. Since the birth of my son, I have been wanting to stay closer to home and also get back to why I originally went into education: working with kids in special education. My hope is that by getting certified as an educational diagnostician, I can go into private practice and help families navigate the often confusing issues related to special education. I would like to be able to assess students and provide families with information to help support their child's academic success. I do not have access to any district assessments but am willing to purchase them if needed. I look forward to meeting everyone. Shari
